Music at St Martin's is a Registered Charity  No:1124920

MUSIC AT ST MARTIN’S was founded as a Registered Charity no.1124920 in 2004 with the object of raising the musical profile of this magnificent church in Stamford and to help raise funds for its maintenance.

Every year since then, Music at St Martin’s has promoted a season of concerts, choral workshops and lunchtime recitals attracting high-quality musicians – many of them exceptional young artists including such stars as guitarist Sean Shibe and the Castalian String Quartet.

In 2019 nine significant events were held enabling us to donate a surplus of £2,500 to the newly formed “St MARTIN’S CHURCH CONSERVATION TRUST” which is now responsible for the maintenance of the church.   We are proud to say that over the past ten years, Music at St Martin’s has raised over £25,000 towards the repair and improvement of this wonderful historic building.

This year, we find ourselves in exceptional circumstances and have sadly been obliged to CANCEL our concert season.

In our FORTHCOMING EVENTS section we listed events planned for 2020, which once again included an evening concert under the aegis of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust who have generously supported our concert series for many years.    Percussionist MATT FARTHING playing the marimba (made famous by the wonderful international artist, Evelyn Glennie) performs regularly with the London Symphony Orchestra and was a finalist in BBC Young Musician of the Year 2014 and we hope to engage him on a future occasion.
